Meet at 9am at the Mt Taylor Reserve bitumen carpark near traffic lights and roughly opposite Mannheim Street on Sulwood Drive, Kambah. This is a one-way carpark – if coming from the south you’ll need to drive up the northern end of the carpark to enter it (where the traffic signs say 20 km/hr). It is also possible to park in Gouger St, Torrens and walk for 10 minutes directly west to meet us on Sulwood Drive.
We will walk all the way around the Mt Taylor Base Loop starting on the Sulwood Fire Trail. There is no need to climb to the summit. Our loop mostly follows fire trails with quite a few ups and downs and some narrower tracks on rockier ground, over a distance of about 5.5km. We aim to finish before 12 noon.
Recent e-bird listings show thornbills, whistlers and honeyeaters flying over.
